Current Projects

I've been working on fixing an old cassette player from the 70s for around a year now (I work on it on and off) and all that I need to fix now that I've cleaned it up and replaced the belts is to fix the reel that rolls up the tape! it works but it has about a 7-10 second delay which makes it eat my tapes... but its hard to get in there so we'll have to see where this goes.

Keyboard

a raspberry keyboard. This is my first keyboard built from scratch, and while theres been some bumps in the road, I think it's turned out rather well, despite everything. I've mostly finished it, I just havent taken any pictures with it lol.

Bazooka Bubblegum Fightstick

My personal Fightstick, I built this back in octobre of 2021. It originally had the brooke zero-pi board in it, but I just recently switched it to a universal! It has an octogonal gate and a 6-button top layout, along with two menu buttons on the side. The top of the lunchbox has a layer of plexiglass sor extra support. It's a pretty solid controller!

Slide Box Fightstick

Another fightstick, this time made for my sister! It's a slide box (like for photo slides) that I found at a local antique store. I think it is so fun.

It is currently running with the brooke wireless board, and has an antenna and audio out, along with two LEDs on the top for which player you are!

Cookietin Media controller/rythmn game box

This one I made for one of my buddies. He likes playing a certain online rythmn game so I was like, what the hell, and threw this together.

It has a switch on the side that switches it from the game controls to media keys, such as skipping, playing/pausing, and stuff like that. It also has a volume dial! It was such a fun build. It's made with a Raspberry Pi pico inside

Terrarium Fightstick

This I made for my other friend. It's made out of plexiglass, wood, and a bit of stainless steel from an old grill on the bottom. It's also filled with a lot of fake plants and animals. Inside it has a Raspberry Pi pico, with custom setups for both guilty gear strive and skullgirls, along with a newley added script my sister made to switch them. Its mega cute.

Future Projects

Fightstick.... that runs the game

I've built a few fighting sticks, why not build one that can just run guilty gear or whatever. This would consist of the form factor having and hdmi out port ont he front, along with a usb or whatever in port, for a second player. Inside, it would have something like a Raspberry pi or some other small board computer running a game library that can launch either emulated games or pre-installed steam games. All you'd have to do is hook the controller to a monitor or tv and you're good!

For this project I'd need the chip shortage to be over -_-

Laptop (someday?)

I'm always drawing up concepts for this thing, and I do intend to build it when I can finally get everything I'd need.

Currently I plan to use an older laptop for the form factor, from back when the bases were much thicker, mostly for space reasons, but I also love the look. If I rip out most of the innnards, hopefully I can work to get it all in there ^-^;. It would be harder, but I'm trying to figure out how to get some really low profile switches and keycaps, for a slightly higher-end feeling, and of course extra features. I would need a custom board proabably, but I know where I can order some, or (if need be) go super old school and lay down some solder on a board myself. I don't mind the extra effort.

Planned Features:

  • HDMI in and out
  • Internal keyboard with bluetooth dongle out
  • 2-3 USB ports
  • Decent battery life
  • Optional if space permits: Disc drive

As you can see this one is a bit of a long shot to see if it can even happen, along with being probably a pretty low power machine. Thats okay with me though, I would want it for mobile troubleshooting along with server-work.
