Guy she liked wasn't ect.
AGSLWAGAA, or as I like to call it, that one about grunge and is green, is most definetly a twitter manga. While it's literally published there, and the 'chapters' never go over 4 pages as per twitters image limit, it also operates as the usual twitter comic. Not inherently a bad thing if that's what your gut says.
I consider twitter comics to be kind of the soap operas of social media. From the low image amounts comes a want to have the classic cliffhanger every fourth page and it absolutely sticks to that. And I like a good soap! I think Guy She Likes is paced well for a teen drama, the format is heightening everything to an extent that it becomes pretty fun. It does make me wonder how well a complete readthrough will be, when you aren't getting updated every week or so.
The art is a strong factor in it popularity. The green pops, and with the trend of using only a few colours with a mostly greyscale otherwise colour pallet is in full swing. Arai Sumiko really knows how to do some punchy visuals.
As far as the story content itself, its so far been your usual like mistaken identity situation, with the band content being a fun way to go with it. It has been really funny seeing the bands that I grew up with being referenced as like. Cool underground music, but I am like. From Seattle. So. Disqualified. But it does help that I can immediately think of the songs they're referencing.
All in all pretty fun, I think it'll probably end up at a solid 6/10 of nothing too special but good. I don't mind a series that sticks to what you know and the art is pretty. I'm interested to see how it ends.
